INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ARE WELCOME AT THE FACULTY OF BIOCHEMISTRY, BIOPHYSICS AND BIOTECHNOLOGY

International students who speak English may visit the Faculty as exchangees of, for instance, the Erasmus+ programme. Typically as an exchangee you spend few months at the Jagiellonian University, participating in selected courses run in English and in a small research project at one of the seventeen Departments of the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology. Those who do not know the Polish language and nevertheless desire to obtain the degree of Magister (equivalent of master’s degree) should enroll in a two-year programme of study in English, that is Molecular Biotechnology. You can learn more about the programme HERE.

Some international students (especially those from Eastern Europe) enrolls in programmes of study carried out in Polish and attends the same classes as Polish students. Those candidates who speak Polish may apply for the enrollment in the following programmes of study:

  • Biotechnology (three-year first-cycle studies)
  • Biochemistry (three-year first-cycle studies)
  • Molecular and Cell Biophysics (three-year first-cycle studies)
  • Molecular Biotechnology (two-year second-cycle studies)
  • Biochemistry (two-year second-cycle of studies)

Admission rules applicable for the Jagiellonian University programmes of study depend on the nationality of the applicant and they weigh on the enrollment criteria, tuition fees and scholarship opportunities.

  • If you don’t have Polish citizenship, you must apply as foreigner.
  • If you have Polish citizenship (even as dual citizenship) you must apply on the basis of rules for Polish citizens.
